TORONTO, CANADA.  February 7, 2017 The Toronto Pizza Championship hosted by The Canadian Culinary Federation “CCFCC” Toronto Branch with partners Italiana FoodTech , The School of Italian Pizza and SYSCO was launched today and will become an annual event.

1st Place Winner of the Toronto Pizza Championship was MAURIZIO MASCIOLI, Owner of Maurizio’s Pizzeria in Parry Sound, ON  Maurizio will now represent Canada and the  CCFCC Toronto Branch at the International Pizza Championship in Bucharest, Romania March 4-6, 2017.

2nd Place Winner KHRYSTYNA COLLINS, Manager of Applestone Pizzeria and 3rd Place Winner ALIN GAVRIL, Executive Chef, Delta Toronto East Hotel each received a Pizza Peel Made in Italy sponsored by Italiana FoodTech and a Neapolitan Pizza Course sponsored by The School of Italian Pizza.

Congratulations is also extended to finalists JOSEPH LEROUX, Owner, Amadio’s PizzaGREG HOWE, Culinary Arts Instructor, Humber College and MATTHEW RITCHIE, cook, Country Catering.

Competitors were required to make 2 x Classic Pizza + 2 x Creative Pizza (all thin crust) in 40 minutes.
