President’s Blog 2013-01-20

October 30th, 2014

It’s 2013 and the CCFCC begins its fiftieth year with a bang.

Our local branches are in the middle of planning many events in their communities from the Saputo CCFCC Junior provincial challenges to gala dinners.

On a national level, the Edmonton branch is hosting the Canadian selection for the WACS Global Chefs Challenge on January 26. And if that isn’t keeping them busy enough, they are in full preparation on the 50th anniversary conference plans. Watch for a limited edition 50th anniversary pin, which commemorates this milestone in our association’s evolution.

On an international level, our Bocuse d’Or representatives, Chef Alex Chen and his commis, Jack Beers, have been busy training seven days a week for the competition in Lyon at the end of January. Join me in wishing them the best and to thank them and Vince Parkinson for their dedication and commitment to showcasing Canadian talent in what is recognized as the most challenging culinary competition in the world.

As always, let your board members know of your needs and wishes for the association. We’re here to help you and your branch in any way you need us.

Living the dream,

Donald
